The Soap Dispensary – You Need To Go Here!

Refillable dental floss. It comes it different thicknesses and come waxed or unwaxed.

So there’s this shop in Vancouver, on Main street, called The Soap Dispensary. Apparently it has existed since 2011, but only recently did I notice it, and only about a week ago did I finally go in. The concept of the store is amazing: bring in a refillable bottle, and have it filled with your choice of cleaning product or personal hygiene product. Products range from dish soap to face soap to dental floss to essential oils to hairspray to toothbrushes. You can even refill certain spices, herbs and oils there, if you so desire! And just to top everything off, the store smells amazing, and they carry a few fair trade items.

French Lavender, Sweet Orange Vanilla essential oils. Even these bottles are refillable.

While I was there, I picked up the items you see here. The essential oils are for an up-and-coming  post, the rest seems pretty self-explanatory.

If you’re not from Vancouver, have you heard of any places like this in your city? Where else have you seen a dispensary like this? I’d love to know about other shops that are embracing this concept!

Re-usable, sustainable bamboo toothbrush
Re-usable, sustainable bamboo toothbrush.

Ever since I saw the video about the No-Waste Girl, I have wanted to try a bamboo toothbrush. So now I have one, and it’s awesome. It is everything I wanted in a toothbrush and more!
The Man was concerned that when the bamboo handle got wet it would feel weird, but I think it feels fine! The important thing to do is rinse it after each use and stand it up in a toothbrush holder or cup so it can dry out.

Re-usable stainless steel straw, and a re-usable jar lid with a hole for the straw. I HAVE WANTED ONE OF THESE FOR MY WHOLE LIFE PRETTY MUCH.

I really encourage you to check out their website, and to see if your city has anything similar to this. It’s really such a great way to cut down on waste and promote a more sustainable way of living.
