Safe Makeup for Fall – A Prelude

safe natural makeup
Thanks to my husband for helping me take these photos!

Hello, friends! I’m sorry I haven’t been posting regularly lately. Long story! I hope your Friday is going well, is anyone celebrating Halloween? Is anyone obsessed with makeup like me? Is halloween just an excuse for us all to put on all those funky colours we might not otherwise use? Yes. Yes it natural makeup

One of the requests I get most often is about makeup. To be honest, I’ve stayed away from this topic for the simple reason that there are SO MANY BRANDS out there to research and look up (which would take a million years probably), and I was like, “why do I want to try and compete with the gazillions of makeup tutorials out there

Well, I guess I don’t want to compete with them. If you guys want a tutorial I suppose I can give it a go, but what I think will work well is if you go to the experts on YouTube to discover application techniques, good brushes, etc. I did do a short makeup course while in beauty school, but hair was my focus so I don’t know if I feel confident trying to teach other people how to do their makeup, haha! In turn, I will share safe, natural makeup products as I find them. This will be a joined effort.

For this post, I will simply tell you what products I used to get the look. I am working on some posts about what to buy at Sephora and the safest drugstore makeup brands, but if you want some places to get started, you can still read what I used this time in particular.

All of these products are rated either good to fair by the EWG on their Skin Deep site.

The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream in 00, The Body Shop All-In-One Face Base in 035, La Biostetique Belavance Sunsation Terra Bronzing.
Random story: Elderly women like to tell me how lucky I am to have such light “porcelain” skin (which is pretty racist btw), but not being able to find foundation that’s light enough for you has its downsides too… #firstworldwhitegirlproblems
