My Get Fixed Quick Scheme

Hello, friends! As I write this I’ve just woken up from a long nap… in the middle of a Tuesday because I had to go home sick from work. One of the nice things about having a temperamental stomach is that I never know if I’ve caught a 24-hour bug or just eaten something that REALLY disagrees with me. And, as I’m getting a new tattoo tomorrow, I figured I better kick my “get fixed quick” scheme into high gear. When you get sick a lot, you get pretty dangin’ good at fixing yourself. Quick.

My get fixed quick scheme:

  1. Have a loooooooooooooooong nap.
  2. Drink a bottle of Kombucha.
  3. Eat a gigantic pile of veggies.
  4. Drink a. lot. of. water.
Sorry about the unfortunate quality photos. Long story but there is still a lack of proper camera or phone with a camera around. Hopefully this will be remedied by this weekend.

For me, luckily, solving a stomach upset (which happens often) is relatively straightforward and solvable through natural means, and I really think that part of this is because I live in Vancouver where there is lots of fresh air and fresh, clean water.

If you live in a place that doesn’t have good, clean water, you probably have to go out of your way to get good, clean water. Sometimes this looks like buying bottled water, sometimes this looks like water filtration systems in your home (reviews.com has some great ideas for easy, quality water filtration, btw). Part of the beauty of filtering your water in your home vs. buying bottled, filtered water is that you potentially use less waste, provided you use reusable bottles or mugs to drink it.

This is getting really ramble-y. Oops haha. Anyway, I’m really thankful for having clean water to heal my body. It’s a little thing, but not such a little thing. You know?

  1. i definitely need to get back on track with drinking way more water. I’ve gotten on a coffee/tea kick lately and not so much water. need to be better about that 🙂

  2. When I get sick, or start to feel sick, this little miracle drink does wonders:
    A mug of hot water
    As much apple cider vinegar as I can handle (try a cap full to start and add more later if you can)
    As much lemon juice as I can handle
    Honey to sweeten
