Well hello there! My name is April, and this is where I am going to be sharing my journey of changing my shopaholic habits into something more fulfilling. In my day-to-day life I am a SEM Marketer, blogger, wife and coffee addict on the west coast of Canada. Daily pass-times include: pining over everything on People Tree or Matt and Nat (seriously. those satchels! agh), drinking WAY too much caffeine, discovering fun new boutiques and coffee shops, hanging out with my husband and getting lost in enthralling books.
My desire to make a change is firmly rooted in the idea that because of Jesus’ love, all individuals have equal value, regardless of gender, race, “class,” education, job, marital status, mistakes made, or anything else. As such, I believe that sharing the wealth and using my money to invest in ethical products is a daily choice I can make towards the betterment of humanity.
Also, while I personally believe that treating others fairly and justly is right because of what the Bible teaches, I recognise that not everyone shares this belief. So to minimise making anyone feel excluded, or like this blog is just for religious people, I keep posts that are obviously religious to a minimum. However, my faith is the main influence in my fight for fair treatment of everyone, so these posts will come up from time to time, and please feel free to comment with your beliefs. I truly believe that we can disagree and still be respectful of one another and learn from one another if we are willing to try to understand with humility and grace. I look forward to getting to know you, and what you think!
I hope you join me in my journey, and I hope you will feel free to comment, share, and send in suggestions.
